Prior to its founding as a town, Capul Island itself with its lighthouse built on the island, served as a guidepost for the Acapulco-Manila galleon trade vessels passing through the treacherous waters of San Bernardino Strait.
How do you get to Capul Island?
You have two options to get to Capul Island. If you are coming from Luzon, you can take a bus to Matnog, Sorsogon. Buses going to Eastern Visayas and Northern and Southern Mindanao pass through Matnog so you can also take them. From Matnog Portg, walk towards the beach and you can take the boat to Capul Island.
